LAKE MICHIGAN SHORE WINE TRAIL

A new look and stronger focus

Southwest, MI, May 10, 2021– The Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail has  rolled out a new website look along with an updated printed map.  Recently awarded a grant from MDARD/FDA to bring more awareness of  the wine industry here in Southwest Michigan and the quality focused  member wineries and tasting rooms producing wines to please every  palate.

After months of planning and the desire to bring a stronger focus on wine in our region, the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail will bring a  revitalized wine tasting experience to wine enthusiasts from beginners  to experienced. The member wineries are dedicated to using only  locally grown grapes of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA and Fennville AVA  (American Viticulture Area) many of which are estate vineyards. These  wines are among the best in the country and becoming consistently

recognized on an international level. The region contains 90% of  Michigan’s vineyards. The wines produced by the 15 member wineries  focus on quality and provide a full taste spectrum from sweet to dry,  white to red, rose’, blends, sparkling and ice wine. The artisanry of the  blended wines enhances the quality-focus. The longer growing season  allows for more varietals than other wine regions in the mid-west.

The Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail is made up of 19 wineries and tasting  rooms in Southwest Michigan. It covers two Viticulture Areas, Fennville  and Lake Michigan Shore. They begin at the Kalamazoo River in  Saugatuck angling down to Kalamazoo at the railroad tracks and west to  the Michigan/Indiana border. These wineries collaborate to bring you  the best wines, wine tasting experiences and quality focused award  winning wines. MIwinetrail.com to see the new website.
